ELECTRIFY NYC!
Buildings, transport and electricity generation account for 74% of New York State's climate pollution according to the NYS DEC. Thanks to the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act in 2022, there are now generous federal, state and utility incentives to help us reduce these three largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions.
The Electrify NYC! Committee is a group of about a dozen of our chapter members dedicated to eliminating fossil fuels from our lives. Our goal is to help New Yorkers electrify their homes and transport, and to make their electricity supply renewable.
The Electrify NYC! team spreads the word via presentations and tabling in various local settings. Our materials show how you can take advantage of these incentives to kick fossil fuels to the curb! And by eliminating fossil fuels from your life, you will also improve the health, comfort and economics of your home and transport.
