We're kicking off 2026 with hands-on environmental action. This January 10th, we're partnering with NYC Parks and The Climate Corps for a tree mulching event at Marcus Garvey Park from 11-1pm! Join us as we help protect our urban forest by spreading mulch around tree beds—a simple but vital practice that helps trees retain moisture, regulates soil temperature, and supports healthy root growth. It's a great way to start the year making a direct impact in our community!

The Climate Reality Project NY State Coalition wants to shed some light on these and other topics in the upcoming Chapter Meeting, "Freedom of Information."
Lauren Harper of the Freedom of the Press Foundation will give an overview of the state of information and lack thereof. And Rachel Santarsieroof the National Security Archive will be covering her specialty, climate information.
