The Cost of Food Waste: Virtual Event

Do you find yourself tossing un-used food into the trash a lot? Do you know how much it costs to throw away your food? What happens to your food after you toss it into the bin? According to ReFed, in 2019, surplus food cost the country $408 billion. Of this, 70% - $285 billion - was due to food waste¹. There is so much opportunity here to make improvements. Where do we even begin?

In keeping with the theme of Food Waste Management and Composting, our own Food Committee will be leading this month’s chapter meeting on May 25, 2021, and helping us along our journey to being composting champs!
